The 2021 KMPG Women's PGA Championship will be played next month with about 8,000 spectators in the gallery, the PGA of America announced Monday.
The major is scheduled for June 24-27 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga. The purse is $4.3 million.
The decision was made in coordination with the city of Johns Creek and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"We are excited by the continued upward trajectory and vast potential of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship," PGA president Jim Richerson said. "We're thrilled to return this major championship to the South for the first time in over 40 years and to introduce the best women players in the world to Atlanta Athletic Club's historic Highlands Course."
Face coverings will be required for all spectators both indoors and outdoors, including those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Sei Young Kim, 28, will defend the 2020 championship she won at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., last October.
